There will be times when you no longer need a Task in your Task List, for example, you may have created your own Task for a specific job that is now complete. You have the option to close/archive or delete the Task. Do not delete a Task unless you are sure you will never need this task again in the future since all supporting attachments and comments will also be deleted and you will NOT be able to retrieve them Remember that once you delete a task it is irretrievable.
The best option is to close or archive the Task in order that you can recall it, should you need it again in the future. All attachments and comments will remain intact.
To Close/Archive a Task
- Open the Task you wish to close/archive and click on 'Not Started' (#1 in the screenshot below).
- Select 'Closed' (#2 in the screenshot above).
View Archived/Closed Tasks in your Task List
Open the Task List for your profile. Select the 'Progress' tab in the Filter Bar and check 'Archived' (as shown in the screenshot below):
Your archived Tasks will appear in a list.
To Reinstate an Archived/Closed Task
Simply click on the relevant Task to open it and mark the Task 'Not Started' as shown in the screenshot below:
You will need to set 'Start' and 'Due' Dates. Please see our Help Guide Point 4 of 'Understanding The Task Page' for guidance on changing the dates.
