As well as the obvious risk to our physical health, COVID-19 is a threat to mental wellbeing, largely as a result of the disruptive restrictions we are having to live with.
The COVID-19 pandemic has entered a new and worrying phase. This combined with deepest winter with bad weather and short days means that most of us are likely to feel the strain of this lockdown more keenly than at previous times.
Employed and volunteer workers may be suffering anxiety and isolation about COVID. They may also be worried about practical issues such as their job, household bills and childcare.
Clergy can be particularly at risk for example, most live alone and may feel isolated, they are unable to follow the usual practices associated with of their faith and they are providing pastoral support to others, especially the sick, dying, and bereaved. Clergy typically put the needs of others above their own and often find it difficult to seek help. Many clergy are themselves vulnerable to becoming seriously ill if they catch COVID-19 and may be struggling with their own anxieties.
SafetyToolbox has partnered with Abigail Corfield, a mental health and wellbeing advisor for corporates and charities and founder of ‘The Mind Bridge’ to bring you a webinar on understanding mental health. Attendees will learn more about self care, recognising early warning signs and initiatives to promote good mental health.
The attached guide compliments the Understanding Mental Health webinar which ran on Wednesday 20 January 2021.
