Overview of the questionnaire page
When you begin completing a questionnaire, you will arrive at a screen that looks something like the screenshot below. The page is broken into 3 main sections (indicated with red outlines and numbers below).
1. Navigation Bar
This bar includes all the buttons you need to navigate your way through the questionnaire, as well as a progress bar to indicate your progress across all sections of the questionnaire.
1. Previous/ Continue Buttons
Use these buttons to progress through the questionnaire in order. Your answers to a section will automatically be saved.
2. Finish Button
Once you have completed all the sections in the questionnaire the blue Finish button will appear in the navigation bar.
Clicking this button will automatically submit your answers and file a copy of the document to the relevant assignment in your list.
3. Sections Button
This will open up a menu showing each section in the questionnaire and a pie chart (see #1 in the screenshot below) representing your progress in that section.
Hovering over a segment of a pie chart will display a written explanation of your progress (e.g. Section complete, or Unanswered Questions: 12). Clicking on a segment will take you to that section.
The section with a grey background (#2 in the screenshot above) indicates the section that you are currently working on.
4. Exit Button
This will return you to the profile for which you are completing this questionnaire. Your progress will automatically be saved.
2. Section Contents
This window includes the section contents (either questions you need to complete, information you need to read). See the screenshot below for an example of a questions section.
Your answers are saved as you go, and you can move on to another section at any time. Most sections are longer than immediately visible on the screen so you may need to scroll down the page to complete all of the information required.
Note: This section scrolls independently of the sidebar (#3)
3. The Progress Bar
The coloured bar at the top of your screen (indicated with a #1 in the screenshot below) indicates your progress across the entire questionnaire.
The smaller coloured bar in the sidebar to the right (indicated with a #2 in the screenshot below) indicates your progress in the current section.
4. The Sidebar
The sidebar includes lots of useful information including links to useful resources, current section progress and any tasks/ assignments that will be added to your profile based on your answers so far.
The screenshot below shows a typical sidebar. The numbered items are explained in more detail below.
1. Section Name
The name of the current section.
2. Profile Name
The name of the profile you are taking the questionnaire for.
3. Progress Bar
A coloured bar indicating the progress you have made on this section
4. Other Information
Other information broken into collapseable sections. The number next to the name of the section indicates the number of items in that section. Clicking on the name of a section will open it to reveal its contents. For example the Hazard Profile section in this questionnaire looks like this:
Please note that sections will only appear if they are relevant to the particular questionnaire/ section that you are working on.
